A photo-etched detail set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard in 1:48 scale, aimed at refining the landing gear and the landing gear bays of a model of the American Douglas A-20 bomber (Havoc/Boston). The set adds fine metal parts, braces and details inside the landing gear bays that injection-molded plastic cannot capture so finely, and so brings life to areas of the landing gear that are often bare. The parts are broken out of the photo-etched fret and bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). This is not an airplane model but a detail accessory.
The Douglas A-20 was an American twin-engine attack and light bomber aircraft of the Second World War, known to the Allies under the names Havoc and Boston as well. It was deployed in many theaters. The landing gear bays and the gear legs are among the places where fine detailing shows the most.
Separate the parts on a hard surface with a sharp knife and bend them precisely. To bond metal to plastic use super glue, and for larger parts a two-part adhesive that gives you time to line them up. Degrease the metal parts before painting and apply a primer.
This is a photo-etched detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
