A set of small modeling screws with a straight slot in the head, with the size designation 1.5 mm. It is not a kit or a finished model but an accessory for completing detail: it is fitted onto a plastic model in place of coarsely molded screw heads or ones lost during sanding.
Molded screws on injection-molded plastic parts tend to be flat and softly shaped, because the production mold limits them. A separately fitted screw has a sharp edge to the head and a distinct slot, so it casts a shadow of its own and the surface at once looks truer in scale. A straight slot matches the fasteners on hatches, covers, brackets and equipment mountings.
First carefully cut the original molded detail off with a scalpel and sand the surface smooth. Prick the spot with a needle and drill the hole with a micro drill in a hand holder, not in an electric drill, where a thin bit easily snaps. Carry the part on the tip of a toothpick or a dampened brush, seat it in the hole and secure it with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue applied on a pin. Let the joint cure completely before varnishing. Spray the paint in thin coats, so that the slot is not flooded, and finally pick it out with a dark wash or a panel liner.
This is an accessory for the build of a model, not a model on its own. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
