This injection-molded plastic kit captures the famous sailing ship Mayflower in the generous 1:60 scale. The hull carries the relief of wood and a decorated stern, and the model is completed by gunports with small cannon, parts for the masts, the yards and the sails, rigging and a stand. Thanks to its size it is an impressive model, which however is not meant for complete beginners. Paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
Mayflower was an English merchant sailing ship that in 1620 carried a group of settlers, later known as the Pilgrims, across the Atlantic to North America. The ship belonged among the typical armed merchant vessels of her day, with a high stern and a full suit of sails.
Count on work with the masts, the yards and the rigging, which will add to the fidelity of the model. Glue the hull and the superstructure with a thin cement for plastic, tension the rigging step by step and fix it with super glue. The wooden surfaces will stand out after a base coat, a fine wash and dry brushing; the sails will benefit from discreet toning.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
