An injection-molded plastic kit from the German manufacturer Das Werk in 1:35 scale, capturing the tank destroyer Raketenjagdpanzer Jaguar 2 in Bundeswehr service. It is a new mold with link-and-length tracks and photo-etched parts. The exact number of parts and decal schemes cannot be stated here with certainty - the instructions in the package are binding.
The Jaguar 2 was an anti-tank missile tank destroyer of the West German army which arose in the 1980s by converting the older gun-armed Kanonenjagdpanzer. Unlike the missile version Jaguar 1 (with HOT guided missiles), the Jaguar 2 carried the American TOW anti-tank missile system together with the corresponding sighting and night equipment. The low, wedge-shaped hull without a turret is characteristic of this family of vehicles. It lasted in service until the end of the 1990s, when more modern hardware replaced it.
Glue the link-and-length tracks patiently, section by section. Assemble and paint the running gear and the roof features (the launcher, the vision blocks) before the final assembly. Apply a primer and then the typical Bundeswehr camouflage with an airbrush. Bring the sharp edges of the wedge-shaped hull out with a lighter dry brush, lay dark washes into the pressings and put dust or mud pigments on the underside.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
