The sixth volume of the Real to Replica Red Series, devoted to the American fighter aircraft F-15 Eagle.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-15 Eagle is an American twin-engine fighter aircraft built around a single task, namely to gain and hold superiority in the air. Its whole construction corresponds to that: a large wing, a pair of vertical tail surfaces and two powerful turbofan engines with afterburners, thanks to which the machine has an exceptional thrust-to-weight ratio. The cockpit is set high and far forward, so the pilot sees around himself substantially better than in older types. Two-seat forms arose as well, and later variants derived for attacks on ground targets.
It is the sixth part of the numbered Red Series, focused on one aircraft type. With the F-15 that has its reason: the machine has served for decades, has gone through several modernizations, and the differences between the individual forms run from the armament through the equipment to the external details. Anyone who does not get these differences clear beforehand easily mixes features from two different periods on one model. The number in the name distinguishes the volumes within the series; the parts can be obtained one at a time.
It will be appreciated by modelers who want to be clear before the build about which form of the F-15 they are actually building, and by readers with an interest in modern combat aviation. It serves when choosing a kit, decals and detail sets, and as accompanying reading alongside a model under construction.
The publication itself is supplied. The kit, decals, paints and detail sets are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
