New Ware Fairey Gannet COD.4 ADVANCED kabuki masks 1:48 are precisely cut masking templates in kabuki paper for spraying the cockpit and the wheels of a model of the British carrier aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive masking templates in fine kabuki paper (Japanese washi tape) in 1:48 scale by New Ware. The ADVANCED range is more complete than BASIC: besides the outside of the canopy it also contains masks for the inside and for the color of the frame seals, and further masks for the other transparent parts and the wheels. The templates are die-cut and follow the shape of the parts of a model of the British Fairey Gannet anti-submarine and transport aircraft in the COD.4 version exactly.
The Fairey Gannet was a British carrier aircraft of the 1950s with an unusual powerplant, a pair of contra-rotating propellers driven by a coupled turboprop engine. The COD.4 version (Carrier Onboard Delivery) served to supply the carriers of the Royal Navy and to carry people and materiel. Its tall cockpit and sturdy landing gear for deck landings are characteristic.
Move the masks onto clean transparent parts with tweezers, press them carefully against the edges of the frames and spray over them with an airbrush. Applying the interior color of the frames first and then the final outer shade works well. Use the leftover pieces of kabuki tape to mask the areas between the die-cut parts. Once the paint has dried, take the masks off carefully.
This is a masking set, not a model. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
