Rivets with a low domed head 0.6 mm in size. For riveted surfaces where the joint is to be noticeable but not too raised.
Responsibility details are not available.
Not every rivet on a real machine stands above the surface to the same degree. A head rolled into the surface is only slightly domed and in raking light it gives itself away by its shadow rather than by its height. It is precisely such a joint that this shape imitates: it is noticeable, but it does not break up a smooth surface. It comes into its own on sheet-metal skins, on covers and hoods, on the riveted joints of a body and anywhere a full round head would look exaggerated.
Rivet heads of a low domed shape, 0.6 mm in size according to the name of the item. The conversion to the subject is a multiplication by the figure of the scale: in 1:35 scale it works out at roughly twenty-one millimeters, in 1:48 scale at just under twenty-nine and in 1:72 scale at about forty-three. The dimension therefore fits ordinary structural riveting, not the fine stitching of sheet metal.
Low heads forgive less than tall ones: under a thick coat of paint or filler they disappear entirely. Glue them on, therefore, only onto a finished surface and spray sparingly. Mark the spacing with a pencil or by the edge of a strip of paper tape laid against it, take the parts one at a time with the moistened tip of a toothpick and seat them in a drop of cyanoacrylate glue applied to the model in advance. The shape is drawn out best by a dark wash that settles around the heads and by a slight lightening of the surface between them.
For modelers who want their riveting fine and settled into the surface rather than raised. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
