The Ferrari 812 Competizione is a lightened and more sharply tuned version of the 812 line, which was built in limited numbers. Under the long front hood remained the naturally aspirated twelve-cylinder with a displacement of 6.5 liters, that is an engine without forced induction, which is practically not to be found on new cars today; the power goes to the rear wheels and rear-wheel steering adds to the agility. The most conspicuous difference from the ordinary coupe is the rear end: instead of a rear window there is an aluminum panel with transverse ribs that direct the airflow across the rear of the car.
The 1:64 scale is the most widespread one among car collectors, so the model fits into most existing collections and into ordinary display cases with shallow shelves.
Protect the model from direct sunlight, because long exposure does neither the paint nor the plastic parts any good and the shade gradually fades. Sweep dust off with a soft brush; a cloth catches on small projections and bends the fine parts. Pick the model up by the chassis where you can, as fingerprints show at once on polished paint.
