Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Swedish single-engine SAAB 91 Safir aircraft in 1:72 scale from Kovozavody Prostejov (KP). The International edition is aimed at the international operators of the Safir; the type served with air forces and with civil users in a number of countries. It is a typical short-run plastic kit, completed by a decal sheet with the option of several color and marking variants. The exact contents of the box are given in the manufacturer's catalog.
The SAAB 91 Safir is an all-metal low-wing monoplane with retractable landing gear, designed by the Swedish engineer Anders J. Andersson; it first flew in 1945. It served as a trainer and touring machine with three or four seats and was built in Sweden and under license in the Netherlands. Over time it received more powerful engines, from the British Gipsy Major to the American Lycoming, and spread to many military and civil users across Europe and beyond. Thanks to its reliability it stayed in service with some operators until the end of the 1980s.
As with short-run kits we recommend first cleaning the parts of flash and molding remains and test-fitting dry as you go, because the kit may not have pronounced locating pins. Glue with liquid cement for plastic, lay a primer before painting and apply the shades with an airbrush. The decals settle more easily over gloss varnish, and a matte final coat then unifies the overall look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
