A wooden deck in 1:700 scale for a model of the French battleship Jean Bart in her 1955 state, cut for the Trumpeter 05752 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Jean Bart was a French battleship whose construction was interrupted by the Second World War and which was completed only in the 1950s. The year in the name refers precisely to that late form, when the ship served in the postwar navy. On a model of a large ship the deck forms the largest unbroken area, so the difference between uniform plastic and wood with the pattern of planks is visible at first glance.
A deck sheet of wooden veneer for 1:700 scale, cut for the Trumpeter kit with the manufacturer's part number 05752. The veneer is divided into strips imitating the individual planks, the gaps between them form a real boundary of the material, and the openings for the superstructures, the turrets and the deck equipment are cut out in advance.
First check that the plastic deck is flat and free of burrs; every unevenness will show under thin veneer. Lay the sheet on dry and check the position of the cutouts. The way it is fixed is given in the manufacturer's instructions, as the sheet may or may not have an adhesive layer; if you are gluing, choose a glue suitable for wood and apply it thinly and evenly. Press down over a soft backing from the center outward and work in sections, so that the veneer does not ripple anywhere.
The ship kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The extent of the package is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
