A wooden deck in 1:700 scale for a model of the German armored ship Deutschland, worked for the Fujimi 42130 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Deutschland was the first of the German armored ships for which the designation pocket battleships took hold because of the disproportion between a small displacement and heavy gun armament; the whole class was named after her. In 1940 she was renamed Lutzow, so a model under the name Deutschland matches the earlier form of the ship.
A replacement for the deck areas that a kit renders with a uniform surface. The thin veneer is divided into strips imitating the individual planks and the gaps between them, so the deck gains the pattern and the color tone of real wood, which is reached by painting plastic only with difficulty. The set is worked for the Fujimi kit with the catalog number 42130 in 1:700 scale.
The area under the deck has to be smooth, dry and degreased; cut the raised plastic elements away and sand them down. Verify the way it is fixed, that is whether the deck has an adhesive layer of its own or is glued separately, in the manufacturer's instructions. Lay the parts on dry first and check how they line up, and only then fix them. Trim the excess with a new blade guided tight along the edge. The tone of the wood can be tuned with a thinned oil paint and secured at the end with matte varnish.
For ship modelers who want to tell a wooden deck from steel superstructures even in a small scale and to avoid the laborious painting of the pattern of planks with a brush. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
