1:700 IJN Fuyuzuki 1945 is a plastic kit of the Japanese Akizuki-class destroyer from the maker Pit-Road, with hull parts added according to the name.

A plastic kit of the Japanese destroyer Fuyuzuki as she was in 1945, from the Japanese maker Pit-Road. 1:700 is the most widespread scale for warships: the finished model stays manageable in size, fits an ordinary display cabinet and can be built into groups with other ships of the same scale. The mention of hull parts in the name means the package also holds the lower hull, so the model need not end at the waterline and can be built at full height on a stand.
Fuyuzuki belonged to the Akizuki-class destroyers, which the Imperial Japanese Navy ordered above all as escorts for aircraft carriers. Against older Japanese destroyers this class had a fundamentally stronger anti-aircraft armament built around rapid-firing 100 mm guns in twin turrets, completed by torpedo armament and, as the war went on, by a growing number of light automatic weapons. Fuyuzuki entered service in 1944, and in April 1945 she was among the escort of the battleship Yamato on its last operation toward Okinawa. Unlike most of her sister ships she lived to see the end of the war.
In 1:700 scale the result is decided by clean work with the small parts. It pays to separate them with a sharp scalpel just before fitting and to use a light application of liquid cement for plastic. The masts and davits will take replacement with stretched sprue or wire, and the parts with railings can be supplemented with etched ones. Lay the paint on with an airbrush in thin coats so the engraved deck detail is not lost. Japanese ships are usually painted in gray hull shades with the deck surfaces set apart; keep the weathering restrained, because in two millimeters of superstructure height an overdone wash is distracting. The model shows well on a stand or on a simple water surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
