An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese gunboat Uji in her 1945 fit, 1:700 scale, waterline version. Aoshima is a Japanese manufacturer of ship models. The package makes it possible to build a static model of this smaller patrol and escort vessel of the late Second World War.
The Uji was a river and coastal gunboat of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Vessels of this category served for patrolling, escort and support in shallow and coastal waters; they carried gun and anti-aircraft armament in keeping with their size. The 1945 fit matches the late phase of the war.
Glue the smaller hull and the fine armament parts with liquid cement for plastic. We recommend a primer underneath and an airbrush for even gray shades. A dark wash will bring out the decks and the details, and the small parts of the anti-aircraft armament deserve careful cleaning up. The model will show at its best in a harbor or coastal scene.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
