This injection-molded plastic kit captures the American Iowa class battleship as she was in 1983, after the modernization of the 1980s. The hull can be built at full height on a stand or as a waterline. The package holds the main turrets of 406 mm caliber, the guided-missile canisters, finely rendered superstructure, a shipboard helicopter, a display stand and a decal sheet.
USS New Jersey was one of the battleships of the Iowa class. Under the program for the renewal of the surface fleet she was modernized in the 1980s and returned to service, gaining Tomahawk and Harpoon guided missiles alongside the classic gunnery of 406 mm caliber. In this state she operated among other places in Central America and in the Mediterranean.
We recommend a thin cement for plastic, a primer and an airbrush; for 1983 a uniform shade of naval gray is typical. Paint the hull and the decks before fitting the armament. The appearance is enhanced by photo-etched railings and rigging, which are not included in the package.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
