Turned brass replacement barrels for the USN 406 mm (16 inch) Mark 7 in 1:700 scale from MASTER. An accurate metal accessory for the main battery, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely turned brass barrels of 406 mm (16 inch) caliber, the Mark 7 type, in 1:700 scale from the Polish manufacturer MASTER. It is a metal detail accessory that replaces the plastic barrels from the box. The package contains 9 pieces, which matches the main battery in three triple turrets. The long metal barrels are perfectly straight, which stands out especially on guns as prominent as these.
The American gun of 406 mm caliber and 50 calibers length (16 inch, L/50), the Mark 7, was the main armament of the famous fast battleships of the Iowa class and of the planned Montana class. It was fitted in three triple turrets, nine barrels per ship in all. The longer barrel of the Mark 7 gave the shell a higher muzzle velocity and greater range than the older Mark 6.
Cut off the original plastic barrels and clean them up, then seat the turned parts in the turrets. They are glued with cyanoacrylate or epoxy. Degrease the brass before painting and go over it with a primer for metal.
This is a replacement part, not a ship model. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
