A wooden deck for a model of the aircraft carrier USS Hornet CV-8 in 1:700 scale, cut for the Trumpeter kit with the catalog number 05727.
Responsibility details are not available.
The USS Hornet with the hull designation CV-8 was an American aircraft carrier of the Yorktown class, completed shortly before the entry of the United States into the Second World War. From her deck twin-engined bombers took off in April 1942 for a raid on the Japanese islands, and the ship then took part in the fighting in the Pacific until October 1942, when she was heavily damaged and sunk at the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands. On the model the most striking thing is precisely the expansive flight deck, which a viewer sees first from above.
The deck is cut for the Trumpeter kit listed under the catalog number 05727. It covers the surface of the plastic deck and replaces the engraved pattern of planks with the real pattern of wood, which you will not imitate with paint or shading. In 1:700 scale it is a large area, so a single step tells on the result: a flat and clean seating.
First rid the plastic deck of burrs and raised marks and degrease the area. Lay the deck on dry and check it against the cutouts for the superstructures and the elevators, and only then fix it; the procedure for fixing it is given in the manufacturer's instructions. Press from the center toward the edges, so that no bubbles form under it, and free the small cutouts with a sharp blade, not by tearing.
This is an accessory to a model. Paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
