An injection-molded plastic kit of the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima LHD-7 in 1:700 scale from the manufacturer Hobby Boss. According to the manufacturer the package holds, besides the plastic parts, photo-etched parts, a stand and decals, together with a set of shipboard aircraft and helicopters. The model can be built as a full hull or in a waterline version.
USS Iwo Jima LHD-7 is an American amphibious assault ship of the Wasp class. This category of vessel combines a through flight deck with docks for landing craft and serves to carry and land ground units with the support of helicopters and short takeoff aircraft. Machines such as the MV-22, CH-53E, CH-46, AH-1W, AV-8B and SH-60 operate from the deck.
The extensive flight deck is worth painting with an airbrush over a good base coat, with the deck lines handled by masking or with a fine brush. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Assemble the island superstructure and the small antenna equipment with their fragility in mind. The aircraft and the helicopters can be placed on the deck and in the positions prepared for them.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
