Responsibility details are not available.
A detailed plastic kit of the American battleship USS Maryland (BB-46) in her prewar 1941 configuration, in 1:700 scale from Trumpeter. The hull is made by multi-axis molding with the option of building the model as a full hull or as a waterline version. The box includes a base with an engraved nameplate, photo-etched parts and a decal sheet.
USS Maryland was the second ship of the Colorado class, armed with heavy guns of 406 mm in twin turrets. The 1941 configuration corresponds to her appearance before the rebuilds, with lattice masts and scout floatplanes. Maryland was one of the ships that survived the attack on Pearl Harbor and, after repairs, went on with the Pacific operations.
First decide on the full-hull or the waterline variant. Glue the fine photo-etched parts (radars, masts, railings) with cyanoacrylate. Pick the engraved wooden deck out with a glaze and a wash, and paint the hull with an airbrush in a period gray scheme. Assemble and paint the small floatplanes separately. The high parts count makes the kit better suited to more experienced modelers.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
