This variant captures the ship in her configuration of 2004. The hull can be built whole for the stand or in the waterline version. The package holds the parts of the hull and the superstructure, decals and the instructions.
USS Mount Whitney (LCC-20) is the second ship of the Blue Ridge class of amphibious command ships. She serves as the flagship of the American Sixth Fleet and provides integrated command and communications facilities. Her 2004 appearance differs from the earlier years in the layout of the aerials and in partial changes to the electronics.
Glue with a thin cement for plastic. Decide in advance between the full-hull and the waterline version. The extensive aerials and masts stand out after a coat of primer and airbrushing; the fine latticework can be replaced by photo-etched parts. Accent the detail with a wash into the recesses.
