Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the American heavy cruiser USS Salem in 1:700 scale. It is the basic release, that is a plastic kit without the additional outfit that the richer variant of the same ship carries. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted and is intended for modelers who will add the outfit to suit themselves.
The USS Salem belonged to the Des Moines class, the last generation of American heavy cruisers completed only after the Second World War. The main armament of 203 mm caliber was automatic for the first time, with a markedly higher rate of fire than on the older cruisers, and the massive gun turrets and the extensive superstructure with postwar radar fit match that. Salem has survived as a museum ship, so she is one of the few ships of this category that can be studied in her original state.
Proceed from the hull to the details: first glue and smooth the hull and the decks, spray the base on and only then fit the small parts of the superstructures, the armament and the masts. At this scale the gray coat comes to life with a fine dark wash in the shadows and a light lightening of the upper edges. The wooden areas of the decks are told apart well with a matte ocher color. Glue the fine parts with cyanoacrylate glue in small doses, ideally applied with a pin. The model is complemented well by photo-etched railings and is suitable for a base or for a diorama board with a water surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
