An accessory set of resin wheels in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker CMK. It is not a model of the weapon: the set replaces the wheels you find in a plastic kit with a more accurate casting with a crisper tread pattern and a clearer hub. In a small scale the wheel is exactly the part where injection-molded plastic shows most: the parting line runs right across the tread and a mold cannot hold the fine detail of the tire.
The combination of two subjects in the name is not an inaccuracy. The German 15 cm Nebelwerfer 41 rocket launcher stood on a carriage derived from the 3.7 cm PaK 36 anti-tank gun, and the two weapons therefore share the same type of wheel. One set thus serves two different kits: the rocket launcher as well as the light anti-tank gun, or a diorama in which both weapons stand side by side. The PaK 36 was the basic armament of anti-tank units in the first years of the war, while the Nebelwerfer 41 was a salvo rocket launcher for area fire.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water, so that the mold release agent comes off the surface; without that neither the paint nor the primer will hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw as close to the part as possible and level the rest with abrasive paper used wet, with respiratory protection; resin dust must not be inhaled. Glue the wheels with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with super glue, as solvent cement for plastic will not join resin. Apply a thin layer of primer before painting. Keep the tires dark and matte rather than otherwise, shade the hubs and bring out the edges of the tread pattern with a dry brush; deal with the final dust and mud with pigments working from the bottom upward.
This is an accessory set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
