A set of sixteen twenty-liter jerrycans of the German army from the period of the Second World War in 1:72 scale. An accessory for vehicles and for dioramas.
Responsibility details are not available.
The twenty-liter jerrycan introduced by the German army in the 1930s is among the most characteristic small items of the Second World War. The pressed steel container with three handles, cross-shaped ribs on the sides and a hinged closure lever proved itself so well that the armies of its opponents took it over too, and in a practically unchanged form it is made to this day. In period photographs the jerrycans appear on fenders, on cargo beds and stacked up in supply scenes.
The package contains sixteen jerrycans in 1:72 scale. A number like that is enough for loading several vehicles as well as for a separate heap in a supply scene, so the set suits a whole group of models rather than a single vehicle. The procedure for preparing the parts is described in the manufacturer's instructions.
Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on the surface. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest with fine sandpaper, so that the rib on the side is preserved. The jerrycans are fixed to the model with a spot of cyanoacrylate glue. When painting, it pays not to make all the pieces the same: unify the base shade, then set the individual pieces apart with a slight difference of tone and bring out the edges and handles with a dry brush. Battered jerrycans look more convincing in a scene than a set without a single scratch.
The set suits builders of vehicles and dioramas in 1:72 scale who want to add cargo and equipment. The model of the vehicle, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
