A sheet of decals in 1:72 scale for the North American Mustang fighters in the markings of No. 303 Squadron.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mustang from North American is one of the best-known fighters of the Second World War. It was made famous by its great range, with which it could escort bomber formations deep over the continent, and by the clean shape of the airframe with the radiator placed under the fuselage behind the wing. The number 303 was carried by a Polish fighter squadron within the Royal Air Force, one of the best-known units with a Polish complement; in the closing period of the war it flew precisely the Mustang.
The sheet is intended for 1:72 scale and carries the markings of the Mustangs of this squadron, that is national insignia, squadron codes and the markings of individual machines. How many variants are on the sheet and which aircraft each belongs to is given by the enclosed instructions.
The decals go on only over a finished paint job sealed with gloss varnish; otherwise a matte mark from the backing is left around the print. Cut the element out closely, soak it for a few seconds in lukewarm water and let it rest until it will slide off. Transfer it onto a drop of water, align it and blot the water away with the edge of a paper tissue. Lay the large code letters on the fuselage one at a time and keep checking the spacing against the instructions, because every deviation shows on a smooth side. A decal softener will settle the decal into the engraved lines; seal the model once it is dry.
For builders of Second World War fighters and for anyone interested in the Polish airmen in British service. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
