A Model Set starter package from the maker Revell with a kit of the European combat aircraft. The maker uses this designation for sets in which basic modeling equipment is supplied alongside the parts, so that building can begin practically at once.
The Tornado came about as a joint project of Great Britain, Germany and Italy and its first flight took place in 1974; it is that fiftieth anniversary the box is devoted to. The aircraft was built in a version for attacking ground targets, in an anti-radiation form and in a version for air defense with a lengthened fuselage. A variable-sweep wing gave it the ability to fly very low and fast at the same time, which was its main strength at the time it was created. With the European air forces it lasted in service for over forty years.
A model with a movable wing is more sensibly built in one chosen position with the joint firmly fixed. Leave the outer pylons and stores for the end, so that they do not get in the way during spraying. Low-visibility gray finishes call for careful masking of the transitions; when spraying, rather lower the pressure and lay down more thin coats one after another.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the finished form comes about only during the build.
