An item from the range of military equipment in 1:72 scale, relating to armament of 76.2 mm caliber.
Responsibility details are not available.
The 76.2 mm caliber, derived from a length of three inches, was among the most widespread artillery calibers of the first half of the twentieth century. Field and anti-tank guns carried it, and so did guns mounted in the turrets of armored vehicles, so a modeler meets it on the equipment of several armies at once. For a collector it is a caliber that ties artillery to armor, which is why it tends to be represented on guns standing alone as well as on vehicles.
In 1:72 scale an extensive collection can be gathered in a small space, and equipment goes well in it with figures and with aircraft models of the same scale. The parts, however, are small, so the result is decided by patience, sharp tools and a well-lit workplace.
Wash the surface before painting in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap, let it dry and apply a base coat; without it the shade scrapes off a smooth surface easily. Lay the paint down in thin coats so that the fine edges and surface detail are not flooded. The metal parts of artillery equipment can be brought out with a drybrush, and the gun barrel tends to be shaded a darker tone toward the muzzle. The recommended procedure and the suitable materials are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
For collectors of military equipment in 1:72 scale who put together artillery and armor displays or build dioramas. Paints, glue and other finishing materials are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
