Eduard A-4B Skyhawk 1:72 — painting mask

A self-adhesive painting mask from Eduard in 1:72 scale. This is not a kit but a modeling accessory cut from thin yellow masking (kabuki) tape. The mask follows the shape of the canopy glazing frames and of other areas exactly, so all you have to do is stick it onto the model, spray the paint and take it off once dry. The result is sharp, clean transitions without laborious hand painting of the frames. The subject is the American Douglas A-4B Skyhawk carrier-based attack aircraft. The model itself is bought separately and is not included in the package.

The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk is an American single-engine carrier-based light attack aircraft. The A-4B version belongs to the early production of this successful and long-produced type, which served with the US Navy and the US Marine Corps and with a number of other operators.

Use

• Take the individual parts of the mask off the backing and stick them onto the glazing and the other areas of the model that are to be masked.
• Spray the color of the frames over the mask, let it dry and peel the mask off carefully.
• Masking is done on a surface of the model that already has its base coat and is dry.
• The open areas of the glazing between the masks can be filled with masking fluid.
