A set of photo-etched metal parts for a model of the A-4B Skyhawk carrier-based attack aircraft in 1:72 scale. The metal elements are thinner and finer than the corresponding plastic parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
The A-4B is an early version of the American carrier-based Skyhawk attack aircraft. The aircraft came about as a deliberately small and simple machine: it was so compact that it managed without folding wings, which is rarely seen on a carrier aircraft. That is exactly why every extra detail shows on a model, whether it is the cockpit, the landing gear bays or small covers on the fuselage.
A set of photo-etched metal parts. Etched metal is made by etching thin sheet, so the parts have a thickness that cannot be achieved by casting and they carry fine detail. The breakdown of the elements and their placement on the model is given in the manufacturer's instructions; which kit the set is tuned to is also given in the instructions, so compare the parts with the model you are building before the build.
The elements are joined to the fret by thin tabs. Cut through them with a sharp blade on a hard surface; do not tear them or twist them, otherwise the part will be deformed. Make the bends over a straight edge, ideally in a bending tool. They are glued with a really small amount of cyanoacrylate glue; cement for polystyrene will not join metal. Degrease the surfaces before painting and spray them with a base color, otherwise the layer rubs off during handling.
The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
