A masking set in 1:72 scale for a model of the Douglas A-4E/F Skyhawk carrier-based attack aircraft. The items are cut to shape and stuck on before spraying.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk was a small single-engine carrier-based attack aircraft with a delta wing which, for its size, did not have to fold. The A-4E and A-4F forms belong to the later versions of American production; the F version can usually be told by the dorsal fairing with additional equipment. A small machine in 1:72 scale comes out small, and the cleanliness of the sprayed edges tells on it all the more.
The items are cut in advance to the shape of the places that are to stay covered during painting. That does away with cutting tape on the part itself, where the blade easily slips on a curve. What the set covers is described in the manufacturer's instructions.
Wash and degrease the surface before sticking them on, otherwise the mask will not seat and the paint will run underneath. Transfer the items with tweezers and press the edges down all the way around. Spray the paint in thin coats and take the mask off shortly after it has dried, ideally with a shallow pull across the edge.
It will repay anyone who struggles at a small scale with glazing frames and with the accuracy of hand-cut tape. The masks are cut to a particular kit named in the manufacturer's instructions, so offer them up dry and compare them with the part before sticking them on.
The package holds masking items. The model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
