Rob Taurus A6M Zero 1:72 is a vacuum-formed clear canopy for models of the Japanese Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighter. It is not a model but a replacement cockpit canopy with thin walls and high transparency.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set contains a vacuum-formed (vacuform) clear canopy in 1:72 scale, intended as a replacement for the plastic part from the box of a Mitsubishi A6M Zero model. It is not a kit of the aircraft but a standalone accessory. The thin walls and the crystal-clear material give the cockpit a realistic look without distortion and without the thick-glass effect that is often a nuisance on injection-molded canopies. The division into parts usually makes it possible to display the cockpit open as well.
The Mitsubishi A6M Zero was the main carrier fighter of the Imperial Japanese Navy in the Second World War. It was famous for its long range and its outstanding agility in the early stages of the war in the Pacific. The glazed sliding canopy with its prominent frames is one of the identifying features of the type, which is why a clear canopy is a rewarding place to raise the realism of a model.
Cut the part out carefully with scissors, or trim it with a sharp knife just outside the outline, and sand the edge down on fine abrasive paper until it seats exactly. Clear PVA glues for canopies suit the job, or cyanoacrylate applied in the smallest possible amount. Mask the frames and spray them with an airbrush; work with the thin material gently, so that it does not deform.
This is a modeling accessory, not a kit. Glue, paints and masks are not included in the package.
