1:72 AEC Wheels (Dorchester, Matador) is a resin set of replacement wheels for models of the British AEC vehicles in 1:72 scale. It is not a vehicle model but an accessory for an existing kit.

The set contains wheels cast in resin, intended for models of British vehicles of the AEC make in 1:72 scale — that is for the armored command vehicle Dorchester and the artillery tractor Matador. It is not a vehicle kit but a replacement for the parts on which a casting shows most on a model. Resin wheels tend to have a sharper tread pattern, a cleaner pattern on the sidewalls of the tires and above all a naturally flattened contact patch, so that the vehicle does not stand on a point on its base but sits on its wheels as if weighed down by its own mass.
The AEC Matador was a British heavy tractor with four-wheel drive, used during the Second World War above all to tow artillery and to transport crews and ammunition. On its chassis the AEC Dorchester also came about, an armored command vehicle with a tall box body which served as a mobile command post with a map space and signals equipment. Both vehicles were robust, with massive off-road tires — and it is precisely those wheels that make the silhouette typical.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water, so that the mold release is removed. Cut the casting block off with a saw and level the contact patch on abrasive paper laid on a flat board — that at the same time sets how far the tire will be flattened. Glue the wheels with cyanoacrylate. When painting, separate the hub and the tire: a tire is not black but rather dark gray with a dusty cast, and the hub is painted in the same shade as the vehicle.
This is a supplementary set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
