Do not confuse this item with a kit of a vehicle: what you are buying are the people who belong in the vehicle. With tank models in particular that tends to be the last thing a scene is missing: an empty open hatch looks abandoned, whereas a single figure leaning on the edge of the turret gives it scale and movement at once.
An African setting means harsh light, high dustiness and the rapid fading of every color. Anyone building hardware for that continent usually works with sand and ocher shades and with a pronounced layer of dust on the lower parts. A set of crew fits into such a composition and can be used with vehicles of various periods, because neither a particular army nor a year can be determined from the name.
First try the placement dry and only then glue. With crews the slope of the shoulders or the turn of the head is often adjusted, so that the figure makes sense in relation to where it is looking. In color, leave the skin somewhat stronger and mute everything else, otherwise the figure will vanish in a sandy setting. Apply the dust on the clothing in the same shade as on the model of the vehicle, so that the scene holds a unified tone.
The figures come with no paint and no base; you choose the vehicle separately.
