1:72 AGM-142 Have Nap missile for F-4, F-15, F-16, F-111 (2 pcs)

AGM-142 Have Nap 1:72, a pair of missiles from Reskit

The set contains two resin AGM-142 Have Nap guided missiles in the smaller 1:72 scale. Reskit offers it as an accessory for kits of the F-4, F-15, F-16 and F-111 machines, that is, the types that carried this heavy weapon. The contents include no aircraft, only the stores themselves, with which you replace the simplified plastic parts from the box or fill empty racks under the wing.

The real subject

The AGM-142 Have Nap is a guided missile for attacking ground targets from a safe distance, outside the reach of the air defenses protecting the target. It was created in Israel and under its American designation it was taken over by further air arms as well. The guidance system sends the image from a television or thermal imaging head over a data link back to the aircraft, and the operator can take the missile right to a chosen point on the target. Because of its weight and size it is hung only on the strongest racks and is usually accompanied by a pod with the data link equipment.

Building and painting tips

In 1:72 scale the fins and antennas are very fine, so work with a saw and over a tray when cutting off the casting blocks, lest a small part fly away. First wash the resin in warm soapy water, then apply a thin coat of primer; a heavy coat would clog the engraving in a small scale. It is bonded with super glue, and any excess should be wiped away at once. Contrast stripes are better managed in this scale with narrow masking tape than with a brush.

Who the set is for

• Builders of combat aircraft in 1:72 scale
• Modelers who want true and conspicuous underwing armament
• More experienced modelers used to small resin parts
• Collectors of models of contemporary and late Cold War aircraft

This is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a standalone model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue and paints are not included in the package.
