Resin exhaust for the Arado Ar 196 1:72 from Aires/Quickboost. A detail replacement for the exhaust parts with hollow outlets for a truer engine area.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the aircraft aftermarket maker Aires/Quickboost is a resin replacement for the exhaust parts of a model of the Arado Ar 196 floatplane in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane kit but a detail accessory that replaces the plastic exhausts from the base kit with more finely cast parts, usually with hollow outlets indicated. Faithful exhausts are among the clearly visible features on the sides of the engine area.
The Arado Ar 196 was a German shipboard reconnaissance floatplane of the Second World War, powered by an air-cooled radial engine. The exhaust pipes emerging from the engine cowling are well suited to being rendered with a detail casting on a model.
First wash the resin parts to remove any mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). We recommend painting the exhausts in burnt metal shades and picking them out with rust and soot; the hollow outlets will stand out once the inside is darkened.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
