1:72 Argentine Carrier Independencia (V-1) 1958 Base is a surface with the motif of the deck of the Argentine aircraft carrier.
Responsibility details are not available.
A surface with printing of the deck of the Argentine aircraft carrier Independencia with the tactical designation V-1, related to the year 1958. It serves as a setting for a finished model in 1:72 and it is neither a kit of the ship nor a set of parts. It is enough to lay it out and stand an aircraft or a helicopter on it.
Independencia was a light aircraft carrier of the Colossus class that Argentina acquired from Great Britain at the end of the 1950s. It lasted in the service of the Argentine Navy until the early 1970s and carried propeller as well as jet machines of its naval aviation. For a modeler it is interesting precisely because it joins a wartime British design with South American colors and markings, a combination you will not often meet among surfaces for models.
Light aircraft carriers of the Colossus class came about during the Second World War as a cheaper complement to the large carriers, and after it they dispersed all over the world. They served under the Dutch, Canadian, French, Indian and Brazilian flag, and that is precisely why a deck of the same shape appears in scenes with completely different markings.
It will be appreciated by anyone interested in South American naval aviation, by builders of postwar carrier machines and by collectors looking for a theme outside the mainstream. It also suits models of British origin, because the ship came out of British shipyards.
