1:72 Avia S-199 Sakeen - AML decals for the Czechoslovak postwar fighter in the version delivered to Israel, 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An AML decal sheet devoted to the Avia S-199 fighter in 1:72 scale. The Sakeen designation in the name refers to the machines that entered Israeli service - and that chapter is among the most interesting stories in postwar Czechoslovak aviation.
The Avia S-199 came about in postwar Czechoslovakia by combining the airframe of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G with the Junkers Jumo 211 bomber engine. The resulting combination was demanding to fly, which earned the machine the nickname Mezek, the mule. In 1948 the S-199 became the first fighters of the newly created Israeli Air Force, where they were given the Hebrew name Sakeen, meaning knife. Czechoslovak instructors trained the Israeli pilots at the time, and the aircraft took part in the War of Independence. The sheet therefore brings German design, Czech production and Israeli combat service together in a single model.
Separate the motifs with a sharp scalpel and work over a light-colored surface so that you do not lose the small items. Leave the decal in the water only briefly and slide it into place with the tip of a brush dipped in water. Draw the surplus water off with the corner of a paper tissue and leave everything undisturbed to dry overnight.
