A resin dorsal fin conversion for the P-47D-30 Thunderbolt fighter in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Quickboost, a conversion accessory and not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin conversion set of the dorsal fin for the American P-47D-30 Thunderbolt fighter in 1:72 scale from the brand Quickboost. It is not an aircraft model but a conversion part for more experienced modelers, which adds to the fuselage, ahead of the vertical tail, the characteristic dorsal fin of the late versions with a bubble canopy.
The late versions of the P-47 Thunderbolt with a bubble canopy lost part of the side area of the fuselage, and so they were given a dorsal fin ahead of the vertical tail, which restored the aircraft's directional stability. This resin set makes it possible to add the fin faithfully without laborious shaping from plastic. The part is intended for converting an existing Thunderbolt model in the same scale.
First wash the resin part in lukewarm water with detergent to remove any mold release agent. Cut the casting block off with a sharp knife or a fine saw and clean the face up; protect your airways while sanding resin. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue, because ordinary cement for plastic does not hold on resin. Try the transition from the fin into the fuselage and into the tail dry in advance and fill and sand it if needed.
It is supplied as an unpainted resin conversion accessory for finishing a model. Glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
