Injection-molded plastic kit of the British Avro Vulcan B.2 strategic bomber in 1:72 scale from Airfix. The Black Buck boxing recalls the exceptionally long raids of the Falklands War in 1982 and contains parts for that late combat configuration, including anti-radar missiles and jamming equipment. It is a large model with the characteristic big delta wing.
The Avro Vulcan was one of the trio of British bombers of the V-force. Its hallmark is the enormous delta wing with no horizontal tail surfaces, which gave the aircraft great range and payload. During Operation Black Buck in 1982 the Vulcans flew some of the longest combat raids in history up to that time against the airfield in the Falklands, with repeated refueling in flight.
The large wing surfaces call for careful filling and sanding of the joints. Finish the cockpit and the landing gear bays before you close the fuselage. Join the parts with liquid cement for plastic and treat the surface with primer. Apply the extensive areas with an airbrush in thin coats and pick out the panel lines discreetly with a wash; a matte coat unifies it at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
