Armory 1:72 B-58 Hustler - resin wheels with weighted tires replace the wheels from the plastic kit and give the landing gear of the model a natural sag. It is an accessory, not an aircraft kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of cast resin wheels for a model of the Convair B-58 Hustler supersonic bomber in 1:72 scale. It is neither an aircraft model nor a part of one, but a replacement part: the wheels are fitted in place of those in the plastic kit. The tires are shaped as weighted, that is with a contact area and slightly bulging sidewalls, so that the finished model stands on its landing gear the way the real aircraft stands on the apron.
The Convair B-58 Hustler was an American bomber with a delta wing and four jet engines in separate nacelles under the wing. It served operationally in the 1960s and was among the first production machines of its class able to fly supersonically over long distances. The landing gear carried a high takeoff weight, and since a model is usually built in a ground pose, the wheels are a detail that shows at first glance.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent, as the mold release agent stays on them from the mold and paint will not hold over it. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a sharp scalpel and level the surface with a file; never snap the part off. Resin is bonded with super glue, as ordinary cement for plastic has no effect on it. Apply a primer before painting. Separating the hub from the tire is easier if you spray the hub shade first and then mask it. Sand resin wet and protect your airways.
This is an accessory to a model, not a standalone kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
