This plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian maker UM represents the modernized version of the Soviet BA-6 heavy armored car, designated the BA-6M. The model is molded in injection plastic, holds fine detail and is complemented by photo-etch. The wheeled chassis with its tandem rear axle is faithfully worked out.
The BA-6 was one of the Soviet heavy armored cars of the 1930s, armed with a turret holding a 45 mm gun and machine guns. The modernized BA-6M version received a lighter turret, a more powerful engine and further changes to the chassis. The cars served for reconnaissance as well as fire support and were fielded in the conflicts of the late 1930s and at the start of the Second World War.
Assemble the chassis and the axles first, then the hull and the turret. Glue the plastic with liquid cement and the photo-etch with cyanoacrylate glue. Once a uniform green has been sprayed on, bring the model to life with a wash in the recesses, pick out the edges with a dry brush and use pigments to create dust effects on the wheels.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
