An injection-molded plastic kit of the British battleship HMS Queen Elizabeth in her 1918 appearance from the manufacturer Trumpeter in 1:700 scale. According to the instructions, the model can be built with a full hull on a stand or as a waterline. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; for the exact contents of the package and any photo-etched parts, go by the instruction sheet enclosed and the markings on the box.
Queen Elizabeth was the lead ship of the class of the same name of fast battleships of the Royal Navy. She ranked among the most powerful battleships of her day and carried a main gun armament of 381 mm caliber. The 1918 version captures the ship as she looked at the end of the First World War, still before her later extensive modernization. The Queen Elizabeth class served, with changes, right up to the Second World War.
With battleships, first glue the hull together carefully and fill the seams. Paint the gun turrets and the superstructure separately and fit them only after the base coat. Accent the wooden deck with a thin wash into the engraved lines; fit the fine barrels and the photo-etched railings with super glue at the very end. This is an older subject with richly broken-up superstructure – it is an appealing but detailed kit.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
