1:72 Bf 109 F and G1 to G4 armament set and pitot tube contains turned metal muzzles for the MG 17 machine guns and a nose probe for a model in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A combined set of turned metal parts for models of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 in the F and G1 to G4 versions in 1:72 scale. According to its name it contains the muzzles of the MG 17 machine guns and a pitot tube. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that is fitted to a finished plastic model.
The set deals with two different weaknesses of plastic at once. On weapon muzzles the issue is the bore, which an injection mold cannot produce, so the plastic part stays blind and the modeler has to drill it out riskily with a micro drill bit. On the pitot tube the issue is thickness and straightness instead, because a long thin part cannot be released from a mold and often warps once cut from the sprue. Turned metal solves both by the nature of its manufacture: the bore is created directly on the lathe and the material holds its axis.
Proceed separately. First the armament, which can be fitted even before the final painting, and then the pitot tube right at the end of the build. Cut the plastic parts off, level the areas and predrill the holes to the diameter of the pins. Glue the metal in with cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin. Before painting, degrease with alcohol and use a metal primer, in thin coats on small parts so that the edges are not rounded off. On weapon muzzles, darkening with a blackening solution proves better than paint. Clean the finished model with a soft brush rather than a cloth, which will catch on a protruding probe.
An accessory for a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
