This is a resin detailing set, not an aircraft kit. It contains underwing (droppable) fuel tanks in two capacities – 275 and 335 gallons – for models of the American fighter North American F-100D Super Sabre. The castings have faithful shapes and a smooth surface and widen the options for the underwing load. Intended for 1:48 scale.
The North American F-100 Super Sabre was the first American production fighter capable of supersonic flight in level attitude. The F-100D version was the fighter-bomber with expanded armament and was widely deployed over Vietnam. For longer range it carried large droppable fuel tanks under the wings, whose various capacities matched the type of mission.
Wash the parts free of mold release, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces lightly. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The tanks typically have a smooth glossy or metallic finish, so smooth the surfaces carefully before painting. Tidy up the seams left after joining the halves so that they do not disturb the clean shape.
The set is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
