Bf 109F - cockpit with an early seat PRINT 1:72 from Eduard is a 3D printed replacement cockpit for a plastic kit. It is not an aircraft model but a detail insert.

The set is an accessory for a plastic kit, not an aircraft model. It replaces the cockpit of the Messerschmitt Bf 109F in 1:72 scale with a 3D printed insert in the form with the early seat. Printing manages structures that are out of reach for an injection mold - solid-walled frames, fine levers and runs, tiny instruments. In 1:72 the effect is all the greater because the space of the cockpit is small and the plastic part tends to be simplified. Eduard is a Czech manufacturer and the PRINT range belongs among its most detailed sets.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109F, nicknamed Friedrich, is considered the aerodynamically cleanest version of the whole line. Against the older type E it received rounded wingtips, a deeper engine cowling, a modified cooling system and a retractable tailwheel. The Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine gave way in the later subversions to the more powerful DB 605. The armament was concentrated in the fuselage and the axis of the propeller, so the wing stayed clean. The equipment of the cabin changed in the course of production, including the form of the seat - which is why Eduard makes the cockpit in several variants.
Separate the parts from the printing supports with a sharp scalpel, level the surfaces and degrease them before gluing. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Try the insert dry in both halves of the fuselage before they are joined and take material away from the inside if need be. Paint the cockpit and weather it separately while it is accessible - a wash and dry-brushing work excellently on printed detail. Only after that close the fuselage up.
