A photo-etched metal detail set of side armor skirts (Schürzen) for models in 1:25 scale from the maker Aber. It is not a kit of a vehicle but an accessory that replaces the thicker plastic skirts with thin metal parts with faithful hangers. The set is intended for the Panther Ausf.G and the Jagdpanther.
The side skirts (Schürzen) protected the lower part of the hull and the running gear of German tanks against anti-tank rifles and shaped-charge ammunition. They were of thin sheet hung on rails, so in the field they were often missing, bent or shot away, which photo-etched metal can imitate faithfully.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Metal lets you bend or tear off the individual segments of the skirts realistically. Once they are masked and painted, bring out the edges and the rust with pigments and washes.
This is a metal detail accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
