An add-on set of underwing weapon pods for a model of the Bf 109G-6 fighter in the R6 fit, 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 is among the most numerously built forms of this German fighter and can be told by the prominent bulges on the engine cowling, which cover the breeches of the upper weapons. The add-on fit designated R6 added to it a pair of pods hung under the wing, each with a 20 mm cannon. The firepower of the machine rose markedly, which came in handy against heavy bombers, but the pods at the same time added weight and drag and the fighter turned less well with them. In the end it was a trade of agility for the effect of a hit.
A pair of underwing pods for a model in 1:72 scale, as an accessory for a kit that does not have them or has them only in simplified form. What exactly the package holds and how the parts are fitted are described in the manufacturer's instructions. The parts are not polystyrene, so cement for plastic models will not bond them; use cyanoacrylate or two-part epoxy.
Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the rest carefully. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the finish will not hold on the smooth surface. Set both pods dry and check that they point parallel to the axis of the aircraft and hang at the same height; on a pair hung under the wing asymmetry shows at a glance. Paint them in the same scheme as the underside of the wing and darken the mouths of the barrels.
The aircraft model, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
