An HGW masking set for a model of the Bf 109G-6 in 1:72 scale; according to the name it is intended for a Tamiya kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The item falls among aids for painting. The particular contents of the package and its form are not claimed here, because they differ between the individual ranges of this brand; what the name gives is the starting point, namely that these are masks for a model of the Gustav in 1:72. The model itself is a separate item.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 became the most numerous version of the whole family. Its identifying marks are the bulges on the engine cowling, which the larger synchronized machine guns called for, and the DB 605 engine. The Gustav served on all fronts from 1943 until the end of the war, in the day and night defense of the airspace of the Reich and in a whole span of field modifications, from underwing cannon gondolas to extendable attachments under the wing. It is precisely the G-6 that tends to be the first choice when a modeler wants to build a typical late Bf 109. The form of the field modifications meanwhile differed from machine to machine, so go by the sources for the particular aircraft during the build.
For modelers who build the Gustav in a small scale and do not want to spend an evening cutting tape. It will be appreciated by anyone who builds several Bf 109s side by side and wants the cockpits done the same way.
