A plastic kit of the light twin-engine helicopter Bo-105 CBS in the version of the Chilean Navy from the Ukrainian manufacturer Amodel. This is a short-run kit in 1:72 scale which offers a seldom seen overseas finish on a well-known European machine that in Chilean service goes under the designation UH-05.
The Bo-105 of the German company MBB is among the most important light helicopters of its era. It made its name with a hingeless rotor with composite blades, which gave it exceptional agility for its day, and a pair of turboshaft engines ensured safety even on flights over the sea. The CBS version brought a lengthened cabin with more room for crew and cargo. Machines of this type served with a whole range of military and civil operators all over the world; the Chilean Navy (Armada de Chile) used them for liaison and patrol duties along the country's long coastline.
Short-run kits call for patience: always dry-fit the parts before gluing, secure the joints with thin cement for plastic and count on fine filling and sanding. Mask the glazing of the roomy cabin carefully before painting. Lay the paints on in thin coats with an airbrush; the details of the interior and of the rotor head will come out with a brush and fine shading. Lay the decals onto a glossy base and even the whole out with a final clear coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
