An accessory set in 1:72 scale for the Chevrolet truck in British SAS service. Intended for a model of a desert truck that its crew loaded in its own way.
Responsibility details are not available.
The British Special Air Service was formed during the Second World War in North Africa, and its way of fighting rested on long-range drives across the desert. The raiding parties reached their targets under their own power, hundreds of kilometers from the nearest base, and carried everything they needed with them. Chevrolet trucks served such expeditions as a mobile store: the crew lashed water, fuel, ammunition and bedding to the fenders, to the bed and to the sides. The trucks therefore looked different in every photograph, according to what they happened to be carrying.
The set goes with a model of such a truck in 1:72 scale and completes it with parts that turn a bare kit into a machine in the field. The parts are separate, so you decide the arrangement yourself and two trucks standing side by side need not look the same.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest, then wash and degrease the parts. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts and check the particular procedure in the manufacturer's instructions. A desert truck will take heavy soiling: lay a thin breath of dust over the base shade from the wheels upward, brighten the edges and suggest traces of the crew's hands with darker marks at the handles and loops.
For modelers who build Allied vehicles from North Africa in 1:72 scale and want to complete a truck with stowage. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
