The extended level of masking in 1:72 for the American high-wing transport: the cockpit frames, the side windows of the cargo compartment and the wheels.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Fairchild C-123 began life as a heavy cargo glider, and only the addition of piston engines turned it into a usable transport machine. Its high-set wing, rugged landing gear and rear loading ramp opened up short unpaved strips that larger aircraft could not reach.
The letter K denotes the form with a pair of auxiliary jet engines under the wings, which improved takeoff with a load. Aircraft with the UC prefix sprayed chemicals to kill vegetation over Southeast Asia, while the HC-123B flew coastal patrol duty. One package covers this whole family, because the cockpit did not change between the variants.
The extended range goes beyond the cockpit frames: it adds the side windows of the cargo compartment and the wheel hubs. On a high-wing aircraft with glazing on both sides of the nose that saves a great deal of patience as well as time.
The rear ramp could be opened in flight as well, so cargo left the aircraft by parachute without landing. The type kept this ability throughout its service and it was used by air forces that acquired the aircraft secondhand as well.
On the long straight frames it pays to lay the cut piece on dry first and to check that it does not overhang an edge anywhere.
