This is not a kit but a small accessory for a diorama and for dressing up vehicles. The box holds three resin castings of the 20 liter jerrycan in 1:72 scale. The parts are supplied unpainted; paints and glue are not included in the package. The castings have the characteristic profile modeled in, with pressed ribs and the set of three handles that often gets lost on the plastic parts from the box.
The 20 liter sheet metal jerrycan is one of the most widespread containers for fuel and water of any kind. A construction with pressed ribs against deformation, three handles for carrying by one person or two and a folding cam lock proved itself so thoroughly that it is still in use in practically unchanged form today. On vehicles the cans were carried in brackets on the fenders, at the back of the cargo bed or loose in the load space; in depots and at positions they were stacked in rows. That is exactly why they are a rewarding detail: a few cans in the right place can turn a clean model into a vehicle that is going somewhere and carrying something.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutter and level the surface with sanding paper; do not breathe resin dust in. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). It is best to paint them away from the model: the base shade after a primer, then a wash into the ribs and around the lock, a dry brush on the edges and chipping painted in with a brush. The cans do not all have to be the same color, as pieces shaded and worn differently look more convincing than a uniform set. Finish by dusting them with pigments in the same shade as the dust on the vehicle.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
